BREWVIEW ON UNIBROUE’S ÉPHÉMÈRE POIRE

Our BrewView on Unibroue’s Éphémère Poire was originally published on July 7, 2015.

Brewed since 2015, its a seasonal beer offered for a limited time only. It offers a fresh ripe pear taste intensified by a spicy finish that quickly appealed to many Canadians.

STYLE: Unibroue-style White ale with pears. 5.5% ABV.

APPEARANCE: Pale gold color. 3-finger height, white colored head has a cotton ball density, and leaves thick lacing on the sides of the glass during consumption.

AROMA: Bready Unibroue yeast, freshly cut comice pears, coriander, wheat malt, white peppers.

FLAVOR: Aromas carry over into the taste, along with poached pears in Witbier.

MOUTHFEEL: Moderate plus carbonation, light bodied, dry, acidic, peppery finish.

IMPRESSION: Another Éphémère we haven’t had the pleasure of tasting since July 2015. This was a new release for Unibroue in 2015, and did not disappoint. Fans of English “Perrys” (Pear Cider) will fully enjoy this one!
