BREWVIEW ON UNIBROUE’S ÉPHÉMÈRE FRAMBOISE

Our BrewView on Unibroue’s Éphémère Framboise was originally published on February 9, 2019.

Brewed since 2005, this was another seasonal beer offered for a limited time only. Its blast of raspberry flavor is supported by crisp acidity and a dry finish which quickly appealed to many Canadians.

STYLE: Unibroue-style White ale with fresh raspberries. 5.5% ABV.

APPEARANCE: Deep amber color with pink hues. 2-finger height, beige-pink colored head is creamy dense, and leaves soapy lacing on the sides of the glass during consumption.

AROMA: Bready Unibroue yeast, dominant raspberry notes, spices, herbs. very faint hop aroma.

FLAVOR: The aromas carry over into the flavor- tart, spicy, lively.

MOUTHFEEL: Moderate plus carbonation, light bodied, dry, acidic finish. The fruit and herb mix linger gently.

IMPRESSION: Another Éphémère we haven’t had the pleasure of tasting since January 2019. Not currently brewed, if you can find any on the shelves at retailers, get it, as it will be a rare find. It’s flavors will greatly reward you. Another pleasure.
