BREWVIEW ON THE FIRST & LAST BREWERY – REIVER BEST BITTER

Our BrewView on The First & Last Brewery’s Equinox Pale Ale was the second of 2 BrewViews. It was originally published in September 2018.

STYLE: British Best Bitter. ABV 4.2%.

APPEARANCE: Medium amber color, with a dense, 2-finger height white colored head. Even-sheeted lacing on the sides of the glass as the beer is consumed.

AROMA: Sweet malt, honeycomb, biscuit, and a hint of the classic British diacetyl aroma.

FLAVOR: Once again, the aromas definitely carry over into the flavor with a gentle hop bitterness. Of course, there is a hint of the classic British diacetyl flavor in the background.

MOUTHFEEL: Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation, there is a malty, semi-sweet finish that lingers.

IMPRESSION: World class British Best Bitter. Another sessionable ale. Took me back 30+ years in a great way.
