BREWVIEWS ON STU BREW – NEWCASTLE, UK

Back in 2016, while my wife was attending ministry school here in Redding, California, she met many people. One in particular was named Mat. His sister back in England was connected to a very interesting brewing project that was launched 3 years earlier out of Newcastle University called STU BREW. That startup turned out to be Europe’s first student-run brewery. On Mat’s school break during the Summer of 2017, he returned to England promising me that he would bring back some ‘Stu Brew’ with him when he came back to Redding for his second year of ministry school in September 2017.

The 4 beers that he returned with from Stu Brew were a return back in time for me. In my early beer exploration days (in the 80’s) I remember cutting my teeth with some of the classic British ales. The Stu Brew beers were a reminder of those great days over 30 years ago.
